Zeta MKII protocol devices replacement for standard protocol devices
It has come to my knowledge that so many of fire alarm systems installers are faced with problem of replacing the old Zeta addressable standard protocol devices.
Zeta, since 2012 phased out the standard addressable protocol devices while they rolled out new model of devices; the Fyreye MKII protocol devices. Since then, there's no longer Support for the standard protocol devices and replacement components has posed a serious challange.
However, all hope is not lost.
For the securetone 2 addressable sounders having standard protocol, the replacement has been rolled out in MKII protocol.
The Securetone 2 addressable sounder has a
low profile design which makes it ideal for
locations where sounder are required to be
unobtrusive.
It is designed to work with the
complete range of Zeta addressable control
panels but not MKII protocol.
The sounder is supplied configured to it’s maximum
volume. However there is a potentiometer which may be
used to adjust the sound level if required.
An 8 way DIL switch is used to set the address, where
switch 8 is the shadow operative switch.
When in the
position ON, the sounder will behave normally.
When in
the OFF position, the sounder will listen to commands
without answering to the panel.

The good news is that we have discovered that the sounder above that is obsolete now can conveniently be replaced with the MKII Xtratone Addressable Sounder, MKII - AXT/R & MKII - AXT/W.
Find below:
The Xtratone sounders are small, high output
addressable devices which are designed to meet
EN54 part 3 and are CE marked.
The device is a compact unit that fits a
standard European back box and can be
either surface or semi-flush mounted.
The Xtratone sounder has been designed
so that field cables can be terminated
in the back box as a first fix.
